Empower Students, Enrich Our Community
Providing essential resources to support the success of Rutherford County Schools students, together.
Students’ needs aren’t one-size-fits-all
Many Rutherford County Schools students face significant challenges. And when vital resources are missing, students are unable to reach their full potential.
Without providing resources outside of traditional education funding...
🥫
Many students go hungry on the weekends
🧑💻
Opportunities for supplemental technical education are inaccessible
💵
Critical programs remain unfunded and unsupported
📓
Teachers lack necessary materials
💯
Homeless students continue to face barriers to their academic success
📈
Students fall behind without the support they deserve
Every student in Rutherford County deserves the chance to thrive.
The RCS Education Foundation provides programs and support that fill in the funding gaps, like:
Backpack Program
Research shows that food-insecure students score lower on standardized testing and child intelligence measures, and are more likely to repeat a grade, struggle to get along with peers, and need psychological services.
Our school-level coordinators work tirelessly to secure donations, pack bags, and discreetly distribute food to all students in need.
Project S.T.E.A.M.
Through our partnership with Meta’s Forest City Data Center, we’ve been able to enrich students’ Science, Technology, Arts, Engineering, and Math education by launching S.T.E.A.M. labs in all 18 Rutherford County Schools.
Helping Hands for Homeless Students
Academic success is intricately tied to the well-being and futures of our schools’ students experiencing homelessness.
This program is designed to help these students achieve their academic and personal goals, while also teaching them valuable life skills that foster independence and wellbeing outside of the classroom.
Robotics Program
Rutherford County Schools is dedicated to eliminating obstacles and creating pathways through innovative technology. The Carolina Isobots initiative empowers elementary and middle school students to discover their passion for S.T.E.A.M., develop essential problem-solving abilities, and cultivate interests in emerging career fields that will define the 21st century workforce.
Teacher Mini-Grants
Through Mini-Grants we’re able to empower teachers, media specialists, and guidance counselors with the resources they need to implement innovative projects and enhanced learning opportunities for students.
We’re also proud to recognize difference makers in the lives of RCS students!
RCS Hall of Fame
Each year we honor the community members that demonstrate measurable influence to the growth and development of Rutherford County Schools and publicly recognize their contributions.
